This is just a hotch-potch post of my latest pretty things that are gladdening my heart this week. Starting with my 'new' teacup found at the Recycling Centre (ie the rubbish tip!). It is saucer less and it cost me £1 which I wasn't too impressed with at the time, given it was filthy and saucer less. But I bought it and am now kicking myself that I didn't buy the other identical one given the history of breakages we have in this family! I don't use it for tea but for my soft drinks and my tablets (my migraine prevention and painkillers whenever I need them). What I particularly love is what's underneath,
hidden from view. The sweetest little painted rose with lovely script saying 'True Love.' So unexpected. Oh, I wish I bought the other.
I also found this at the same time,
a lovely pale blue enamel basin - just the shade of a Robin's egg. I put some holes in the bottom and planted it up yesterday with lilac daisies.
Now, moving on to my painted eggs which are hung on my fake blossom.
I wasn't really sure when you decorated for Easter - well, actually I'm sure it is on Easter Sunday as you wouldn't have decorations up on Good Friday, but seeing we won't be here I wanted to hang just a few eggs now.
Oh yes, and another bird. My flock is growing. And talking of birds I have a bird giveaway tomorrow so be sure to pop back if you're interested.
And yesterday, despite sorting Tom's bank account out at 9am (gee whizz, the saga continues!); then straight onto a much needed but lengthy hair appointment (lovely); a visit to Hill House with Fiona (equally lovely); I managed a little Charity Shop run (this is what I call visiting every Charity Shop in town!)..well it wasn't really a run, more just passing by one on the way back from the hairdresser. I found this cross-stitch picture which actually looks better in real life than this rather blurred photo. I'm hesitated for a bit not too sure whether to buy it, then decided I will make it into a cushion to keep the tapestry cushion below it company on the chair by the fire.
Today, we are going to Ludlow to visit my father and my Auntie Madelyn. We will be back on Monday or Tuesday. As I mentioned before I have an Easter giveaway tomorrow and will be posting on Sunday (and hopefully Monday if I can find some wifi!). I'm so looking forward to starting my new Irish Rose crochet cushion if I can find some 4ply pink cotton yarn at John Lewis tomorrow. Let's hope shall we?
