Yesterday I managed to do some sewing and used the tea towel I had bought the other week to make a cushion.
Excuse the dark photo. The frill is made again from Laura Ashley and the back is made from 2 very old linen tea towels that I had picked up in my thrifting for 10 pence.
The ties are made from the few inches I had spare from the front piece so I have used the entire thing without any waste. Gosh, I feel good when I can recycle and make something new/beautiful/useful from things that had been discarded! I don't know about you but my family are particularly 'rough' with cushions...I'm forever repairing, washing and nagging at them to treat them carefully and not to sit on them but against them! I have ordered the 2 Green Gate cushions that were on my list but there is a wait because they have sold out, so meantime this one will suffice! Though I don't give it long until I have to do a repair - and no it isn't the children who are the worst culprits...yeah you've guessed it it's my very own husband!
