March Photos ~ Day 6
Today was Tom's university interview and that meant a trip over the Severn Bridge - the second and newer Severn Bridge.
I'm really pleased with these photos as I took them from a speeding car..ahem..not speeding but a moving car! It has been a long day but hopefully worth it. The university had a good feel to it; situated very near to the beach. Whilst waiting for Tom I spent a lovely, relaxing 2 hours crocheting in the university library, while Anth (who is doing the first part of a Social Work Degree) worked on his laptop. I sat there listening to Craftsanity on my ipod and felt very tempted at the student life, imagining myself doing some kind of crafty/textile/photography degree, having a quick walk on the beach before my lecture, back to the library, then onto my cozy little room to sew..oh yes..no cooking, food shopping, very little cleaning, just doing something creative and socializing! Perhaps Anth and I could go together..perhaps I better go to bed as I'm getting carried away. Incidentally I am totally addicted at the moment, to crocheting those hearts. I'm so enjoying making them I can hardly stop. See you tomorrow..

I'm guessing at Swansea. I went there, ahem, a very long time ago. Great place.

The photos are stunning. Good work capturing them whilst in a moving vehicle. I am going to have a go at the hearts myself, they have certainly got my fingers twitching. I might have a go at knitting some as well using the knitting pattern from knitterella's site

Guten Morgen Jane!
Oh, the Severn Bridge...Reminds me of wonderful holidays we had in Wales...
Weeks ago I told you about a lovely book from Kaari Meng: The French-Inspired Home. Now there is an new book: The French-Inspired Jewelry. It´s soooo lovely. And maybe you need an idea for an Easter Gift? ;)
Have a nice day, longing for new posts!

Good luck to Tom - I hope he gets in - if that is his preferred choice.
We have to make a similar trip at the weekend, to pick up my eldest daughter from Aberystwyth - she'll be home for Easter - yeah!
Great photos BTW - I'm surprised the bridge wasn't closed due to those high winds yesterday!

Hope Tom's interview went well. Neat photo also. I love those crocheting hearts. I need to find some time to lean how. Right now I am in the Embroidery mode. I can't stop! Have a great day.

Amazing photos although I have to say that bridge totally terrifies me! I have a major height/bridge phobia! Hope the interview went well. Sounds like you had a very pleasant time while waiting.

Jane,
Love the bridge photos and particularly how the bridge supports seem to soar to the top. I get a real feeling of motion!
I love the diversity you are showing us; from quaint, charming villages to a very modern bridge. Your pictures are always a treat.
I printed out the instructions for the crocheted hearts, too. I think they are cute as can be!
Wishing your son all the best as he enters the next stage of his life.

Good luck to Tom. I love bridges, they're just so clever. We see the new Severn bridge every time we're en route to my Mum's in Cornwall. We always say one day we'll take a detour and cross it, but always we're keen to continue our journey (still not halfway at that point!)

No, no, don't be a student at the same time as Anth! It would be the road to ruin - you know what shared student houses look like! Beer cans stacked up in the filthy windows, floors unhoovered for a year at a time, new strains of bacterial growth in the fridge, a diet of junk food and alcohol...etc...etc...and Tom will need a break from that sort of house to come home to in the holidays!

This must be the new fashion in bridges. It looks like the new bridge on the way in to Boston, Massachusetts here in the US. Looks very futuristic, but cool, even though I am not at all a futuristic architecture sort of person. Good luck to your son. Mine is doing his spring semester at the University of Winchester. He likes it though he's rather nervous about being turned out of his dorm for the fours weeks of Easter vacation. It is a whole new level of anxiety having an ocean between mother and child, though.
