It wasn't a spectacular spectacle. Quite boring if truth be known. This summer came and went without my usual blooming and I was quite disappointed as I wanted to share it with you. My poor garden suffered more neglect than ever before because of my course (results in a couple of weeks!) and the lack of plant food and TLC! All is not lost though because some nasturtiums have self-seeded into our gravel path and have brought that corner to life.
Not for long maybe because if you look very closely you can see a tiny snail inside the flower! Bloomin' slugs and snails - they have been known to eat almost an entire plant over night! They get everywhere and I fight a daily battle with them.
Still, it probably will be my last battle for this year as the autumn is closing in. I'm getting very excited at the prospect of lighting our real fire again but meantime I will enjoy the last of the unexpected colour...
..that's if the snails don't get them first!
